Not what I set out this morning to photograph, but things don’t always work out the way we plan. After coming up with absolutely nothing yesterday morning. I am pleased to have something that I liked well enough to post. I had hoped to get some more egrets and herons out fishing this morning.

After yesterdays rain the water level is way up. The water you see in the images is actually flowing over the Crosstimebers trail. Now its has been closed pretty much since the snow hit in February, but that is seriously a lot of water flowing out of the marsh and into the river. However it did provide an interesting place to take some clicks. Wish I had had a little more lens though 400mm wasn’t quite enough sometimes.

Not the most attractive day for sure to be out shooting. The water level is still up and the additional rain won’t likely help that either. However the wading birds do seem to be dealing and in some cases even coming close enough to get some pretty images.

It has been really slow at the nature center the past few weeks. However things should be picking up real soon with the return of a lot the wading birds. It’s also not helping that all that snow we had several weeks ago has washed out one the trails. Hopefully the nature center will have that repaired quite soon.
